Volunteer requirements

  • Age: You must be at least 14 years old to tutor.
  • Time & location: Commit to a little over one hour per week (tutoring generally takes place Monday- Friday between 2:30 – 4:00 pm, with some limited options from 12:00 – 3:00) and reside in the Puget Sound region.
  • Training: Complete required tutor orientation.
  • Screening: Pass a background check and any additional required screening.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer reading partner. We are currently accepting in-person volunteers forÌýthe 2025-26 school year. To get started, please fill out one of the sign-up forms below. We will contact you via email with more information about tutor orientations and next steps.

If you are a returning tutor with questions, please contact us via email or phone. Otherwise, no action is needed at this time.
