Fuel stacking is a ubiquitous practice that consists of the parallel use of multiple stoves and fuels to fulfil a household鈥檚 cooking needs. Stacking can pose a challenge to fuel and stove providers whose business models require high levels of technology usage, whether through fuel sales or carbon credit. When stacking occurs with polluting fuels, it can undermine the multifaceted benefits of clean cooking transitions.
